WOW December Award Winner - Mary Ann Romaker, LPN
The WOW Patient Experience Initiative recognizes team members who engage with patients/families, visitors and employees in exceptional ways, providing a superior level of commitment and reflecting the values of Wood County Hospital (WCH). Mary Ann Romaker, LPN, was selected as the December WOW award winner for going above and beyond for a patient in the Outpatient Treatment and Infusion Center (OPTIC). On her day off, Mary Ann came into the hospital to decorate a patient’s room for her birthday. The patient receives multiple infusions each week, and one of her infusion days fell on her birthday. Mary Ann wanted to make the patient’s birthday special, so she made her cupcakes, decorated the room, and brought a gift. The patient and her family were very appreciative of this act of kindness.
