Wound Healing Center Honored with Center of Distinction Award
Congratulation to our Wound Healing Center for receiving the Center of Distinction award. The Wound Healing Center team earned this honor by achieving and exceeding outstanding clinical and operational results in 2021. The award is given annually by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Healogics drives developments in wound science and treats more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually at more than 600 Wound Care Centers across the country.
To be awarded the Center of Distinction, a center must excel in key performance indicators:
• Patient Satisfaction: Greater than or equal to 92% (Our center received a 96.62%)
• Wound Adjusted Comprehensive Healing Rate: Greater than or equal to 75% (Our center received a 82.26%)
• Outlier Rate: Less than or equal to 16% (Our center received a 13%)
By achieving Center of Distinction, the Wound Healing Center team has demonstrated a solid and unwavering commitment to provide an exceptional patient experience. Our team is dedicated to providing a people-first, patient-centered approach to care. The Wood County Hospital Wound Healing Center was one of 19 hospitals in Ohio that received this distinction and one of 271 nationwide.
Advanced treatment options at the Center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound. Our Wound Healing Center staff make a difference in the lives of those who have lost hope of healing. They uphold the Center’s mission of healing as many patients as possible, by sharing their wound care expertise.
