Wood County Hospital's Community Wellness Day
Area residents are invited to take a positive step toward improving their health by participating in Wood County Hospital’s Community Wellness Day on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 6:00 to 11:00 a.m. The event will offer a wide variety of low cost and free health screenings such as a basic metabolic panel, coronary risk assessment, complete blood count among others. In addition, educational information will provide participants with an overview of their general health.
The cost of the blood draw screening is $85 for the 10 hour fasting blood test, which includes 20 different lab tests such as blood glucose, cholesterol including HDL and LDL, triglycerides, electrolytes, kidney function, and a TSH thyroid. An optional PSA test for prostate cancer is available for an additional $20. A package of four vascular screening sites for early detection of vascular disease such as coronary artery disease, heart attack and stroke will be available for $100.
Free screenings include: Blood Pressure, Derma Scan, Dexascan, Height/Weight, Body Max Index (BMI). Information provided will include: My Health Record sign up, Women’s health education, nutrition/diabetes education, pulmonary function testing and much more.
Participation in the screenings is by appointment only. Appointments can be made beginning Monday, May 16th and run through Friday, May 20th. Please call, 419-354-8679 to schedule. Attendees must register by May 20th.
