Wood County Hospital Receives HealthGrades Recognition
Wood County Hospital Receives the Outstanding Patient Safety Excellence Award and the Outstanding Patient Experience Award.
Wood County Hospital was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Patient Safety Excellence Award and the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from HealthGrades.
Patient safety is strongly associated with high quality care. The Patient Safety Excellence Award™ recognizes hospitals for how well a hospital prevents infections, medical errors, and other complications based on 14 serious, potentially preventable adverse events. Patients receiving care at Patient Safety Excellence Award recipient hospitals have, on average, a lower risk of experiencing patient safety events.
The Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ recognizes hospitals for providing outstanding patient experience based on 10 measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medication and post-discharge care instructions. The award is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). – HealthGrades Website, 2016
