Wood County Hospital Introduces Preschool Program for Children with Autism
Children’s Therapy Services at Wood County Hospital is introducing The Ready Program, a pre-school program for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years who have been diagnosed with autism.
The Ready Program provides intensive intervention through small group and individual instruction to facilitate learning and readiness skills for successful transition into a kindergarten classroom. The program includes specialized instruction, speech, occupational, and physical therapies, family education, home programming and incorporation of evidence-based practices and methods that will improve social, cognitive and communication skills.
To enter The Ready Program the child must:
- be between the age of 3 and 5
- have a diagnosis of autism
- tolerate a small group environment
- complete the Wood County Hospital screening and intake process
Wood County Hospital is an Autism Scholarship Provider through the Ohio Department of Education. Payment for The Ready Program can be made through ODE or self-pay.
The program starts September 2, 2014 and will be held at the Wood County Hospital Rehabilitation Services Building, 1037 Conneaut Ave. in Bowling Green.
