Wood County Hospital employee, Jonathan Burt, RN, has been awarded regional recognition from Specialcare Hospital Management Corporation for his compassion for patients going through the inpatient withdrawal treatment program.
May 8, 2019 – Specialcare Hospital Management company, who manages the New Vision inpatient medical stabilization program at Wood County Hospital, recently recognized Johnathan Burt, RN, for his willingness to go above and beyond for his patients and his personal investment in patient care. The local New Vision team nominated Jonathan for always putting patient safety first, while assuring comfort and wellbeing, regardless of the severity of their withdrawal. Jonathan has been a nurse at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green Ohio for two years and has made an impact on countless patients. “He is a selfless person who was born to be a nurse. He always gives 110% of himself,” says Service Coordinator, Molly Whelan.
“I see such a need for this service, and it allows me an opportunity to serve the community in a way that takes away the stigma. It is highly rewarding” said Jonathan, referencing his empowerment. “I am their champion and their cheerleader.”

Johnathan was chosen for this recognition out of applicants from across the region including Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Utah and Virginia. Selections are based upon examples where a nurse went above and beyond for a patient and has shown leadership among their peers.
