Salvador Peron, M.D., a urologist at WCH, introduced Sonablate HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) in October as a new prostate cancer treatment procedure.

This procedure is a personalized, targeted treatment that does not require painful cutting, radiation or hormones. It is the most customizable focused therapy option, targeting and destroying diseased prostate tissue while leaving the surrounding healthy tissue unharmed.
