September WOW Award Winner – Tina Billings
The WOW Patient Experience Initiative recognizes team members who engage with patients/families, visitors and employees in exceptional ways, providing a superior level of commitment and reflecting the values of Wood County Hospital. Tina Billings, senior environmental services technician, was selected as the September WOW award winner for going above and beyond.
Tina was walking to the Environmental Services office on the first floor during her evening shift when she heard something out of the ordinary. She notified the House Supervisor and suggested a call to maintenance to check it out.
Tina’s immediate call to the house supervisor allowed for a quick response by the Maintenance department. Tina continued to assist by making phone calls to different contractors and companies. She stayed alongside the maintenance director, offering to continue to make calls or provide communication while the maintenance team focused on the incident. Thank you, Tina, for your prompt attention and great teamwork.
Tina has been a part of Wood County Hospital’s Environmental Services team for 20 years. In her current role, Tina supervises and assists the 3rd shift with job assignments and performance inspections in assigned areas. Tina shared that the most rewarding part about her job is “Making sure areas are clean and disinfected, so patients and family members are safe. My favorite part is floor care, which is what people always notice first.”
