September WOW Award Winner – Marti Richards

The WOW Patient Experience Initiative recognizes team members who engage with patients/families, visitors and employees in exceptional ways, providing a superior level of commitment and reflecting the values of Wood County Hospital. Marti Richards, RPh, staff pharmacist, was selected as the September WOW award winner for going above and beyond.

Over the Labor Day holiday weekend, a fellow co-worker had a guest in town who had forgotten a medication. They called the hospital pharmacy explaining the situation and Marti jumped in, ready to help. Marti went above and beyond, taking the time to do everything she could to ensure the guest would be able to get their medication.

Marti has worked as a pharmacist for 43 years and shared, “I love hospital pharmacy as I feel I can use my clinical skills to collaborate with other health care professionals to provide excellent patient care. Also, the people at Wood County Hospital are the greatest.”
