Rehabilitation Services Staff Donate to Plant Evergreen in Memory of Amy Richey
To honor the memory of Amy Richey, PT, who passed away in July 2019, Rehab Services staff joined together to raise money to have an evergreen planted and engraved stone displayed outside of the Rehabilitation Services building in December. Amy was a physical therapist at Wood County Hospital since 2004, treating both adult and pediatric patients and had a special interest in neurological rehabilitation.
Amy greatly enjoyed the outdoors and liked evergreen trees and because Amy was a Pittsburgh native and a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan, yellow and black ribbons decorate the top of the tree. Since the staff raised more than needed to cover the cost of the tree and stone, they decided to donate the remaining money to Kids Count Too, foster care and adoption agency in Bowling Green. “Amy was passionate about helping children and the donation was able to fund gifts for the children to give them a nice Christmas,” said Deb Butler – director of Rehabilitation Services.
