Michele Wieczorek WCH Foundation Memorial Donation

Michele Wieczorek was a member of the WCH family in the peri-op department for many years, and in September 2022, she passed after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michele’s father, Gary, wanted a permanent memory for Michele at Wood County Hospital. He recently made a major gift donation in her memory, and her name is now listed on the donor plaque in the surgery lobby. Michele’s grandmother, Bette, who retired from WCH Central Supply, also has a plaque on the donor board.

Gary and his wife, Shelly traveled from Tennessee and gathered the entire family to pay tribute to Michele’s memory by visiting WCH to see the plaque last month. Michele’s boys, Chris and Tyler, were also in attendance.

“It was so very important for the family to have Michele’s name listed in the area that meant so much to her,” stated Cristy Walton, vice president of development, “It was a very touching moment to see so many of her family members come to celebrate her and for us to hear their stories about her and her family.”
