Hospital to Offer Programs on Personal Safety
On Thursday, May 16 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., the hospital will present Maintaining Independence and Safety as we Age as part of its’ Positively Pink Women’s Health Series. The program is designed to provide women with necessary knowledge and skills to protect themselves against crime. Representatives from the Bowling Green Police Division will discuss personal safety techniques women can use, as well as give tips on internet safety and identity theft prevention.
The evening will also feature health and fitness information, free health screenings, samples, refreshments and door prizes.
On Tuesday, May 28 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., the hospital will sponsor a personal safety and self-defense class. Representatives from the BG Police Division will share prevention strategies to help you reduce your risk of becoming a victim. Topics will include how to not look like a victim, ideas to make your home more secure, and tips for maintaining your security while traveling. Participants will also learn self-defense techniques. Active physical participation is not required but is encouraged. The class is designed for people of all ages. Children ages 11 and up are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
