April is Donate Life Month
Every April is National Donate Life Month to help raise awareness and encourage others to become organ, eye and tissue donors. This year, Wood County Hospital will fly the Donate Life flag to show support for this important cause.
In 2023, there were 39,000 organ transplants from deceased donors, making it the eleventh consecutive record-setting year. However, there are still 100,000 people on the national transplant waiting list who still need help. Join us throughout April to celebrate and educate about Donate Life Month.
Becoming a donor is a simple process. You can register as an organ, eye and tissue donor by signing up on your state's donor registry, typically through your driver's license office or online. It's important to discuss your decision with your family so they are aware of your wishes.
We’d also like to thank our hospital partners for promoting and supporting tissues and cornea donation in northwest Ohio. You make a difference!
