Licensed Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants provide a positive environment that promotes health and healing. Specialized Services
Lymphedema
- Our certified lymphedema therapist treats people with lymphedema, a condition in which an accumulation of lymphatic fluid causes swelling. Areas affected may include head and neck, breast, arms or legs. The condition may affect those whose earlier breast, ovarian, prostate or abdominal cancers have compromised their lymphatic systems. Other causes include vascular problems, obesity, blood clots or infections like cellulitis.
- Treatment includes complete decongestive therapy:
- Low-level therapeutic laser (FDA approved)
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Education on skin care, exercises and nutrition
- Compression bandaging
- Myofascial release
- Kinesio Tape
- Individualized home programming
