Description

The Obstetrics Department at Wood County Hospital includes eight private birthing suites – where you labor, deliver, recover and receive postpartum care (LDRP) all in one room. Each room features home-like furnishings, a bed for an overnight guest and the attentive understanding of a skilled staff to make you feel comfortable during the birthing experience. We offer the latest birthing options as well as anesthesia services and state-of-the-art monitoring capabilities. The health care professionals at Wood County Hospital are dedicated to the highest standards of care for women and their newborns, and promoting a positive experience for the entire family.

A Hydrotherapy tub is also available for pain management during labor.

Web Nursery: Through our website, woodcountyhospital.org, your friends and family can share in the joy of your newborn. A photo of your baby along with special comments can be posted on our website for viewing, and friends and family can post their well-wishes for your viewing.

Additional Information

Education: A full range of Childbirth and Parenting classes are available, including Prepared Childbirth, Infant Care, Breastfeeding, Infant CPR, Infant Massage, as well as Sibling and Grandparent Preparation. The Wood County Hospital Obstetrics Department offers free lactation assistance to anyone. To schedule a free lactation appointment call 419-354-8932.

Ohio Buckles Buckeyes Car Seat Program

While every parent is concerned about the safety of their children when riding in a motor vehicle, some parents are not aware of all of the current recommendations for the safe use of car seats and booster seats.

The Ohio Department of Health has recognized this problem and created a program called The Ohio Buckles Buckeyes (OBB) Program. OBB supplies safety seats and child passenger safety education to families in need. The Obstetrics Department at Wood County Hospital will offer this program monthly on the fourth Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m. The program provides families with free safety seats and educates parents on the importance of the safety seat, how to find the right safety seat for your vehicle, and education on the new Child Passenger Safety Law. Participating families are asked for a $10 donation.
