WCH Achieves Cancer Screening Excellence Designation

Wood County Hospital has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Cancer Screening Excellence Award by the Ohio Department of Health. This recognition places WCH among 23 organizations in Ohio that achieved high scores on the Healthy Worksite Recognition Program’s cancer screening assessment.

The state of Ohio is dedicated to expanding access to education and resources for cancer screenings. Since 2020, the Ohio Department of Health has presented the Cancer Screening Excellence Award to organizations that complete the Healthy Business Council of Ohio’s Healthy Worksite Award application and demonstrate a strong commitment to cancer screening initiatives.

These initiatives include offering screenings without requiring the use of paid leave, implementing workplace policies that encourage screenings and providing incentives such as cash rewards or gifts to those who participate.

Congratulations to the Wellness Department and staff for their dedication to supporting employee health. From derma scan screenings to the tobacco cessation program and cancer awareness initiatives, they continuously provide valuable resources and education to help employees stay informed and healthy.
