WCH welcomes new general & bariatric surgeon
Peter F. Lalor, M.D.

Wood County Hospital is pleased to welcome Peter F. Lalor, M.D. to our medical staff as medical director of the Center for Weight Loss Surgery.  Dr. Lalor is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in minimal invasive surgery and bariatrics.

 

Dr Lalor obtained his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his medical school training from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.  He completed a general surgery residency at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a fellowship in Bariatrics and Advanced Laparoscopy from the Cleveland Clinic Florida.  Dr. Lalor is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.  He is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and has published numerous articles and book chapters.  He is also a regular columnist for General Surgery News, a nationally recognized publication for surgeons.  Dr. Lalor has performed over 150 bariatric surgeries and specializes in minimal invasive surgery which includes the laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric band and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.  His general surgery practice will also consist of the laparoscopic treatments of hernias, reflux, achalasia, gallbladder, and colon disease.

 

Dr. Lalor and his wife, Julie, have one daughter. They both enjoy sports, golf, and fitness.  Dr.
